PROJECT SUMMARY

A leading provider of an innovative construction technology platform faced challenges with multiple client implementations, unique requirements, and manual regression testing. To address this, we established a central test automation team using a no-code test automation accelerator. Functional testers underwent a 12-week boot camp to create and maintain automated scripts. Harbinger accelerated script creation, reduced manual effort, and minimized errors. Regression testing time decreased from 2 weeks to 2 days, and CI/CD pipelines enabled faster releases.

CHALLENGES

Handling one product with multiple implementations for many clients poses several significant challenges. Each client has unique requirements and customizations, leading to numerous application versions that need to be maintained and tested. Any changes or updates to the application, such as new features, components, or modifications to existing functionalities, must be thoroughly tested across all implementations. This task is time-consuming and labor-intensive.

  • Manual regression testing for monthly releases can take up to 2 weeks, consuming valuable resources.

  • Testing across multiple browsers and devices requires a significant investment in time and manpower.

  • Enable manual testers to effectively utilize automation tools, ensuring they can seamlessly integrate automated testing processes into their existing workflows.

  • Constant revisions to test cases for different clients and versions increase maintenance efforts and costs.

SOLUTION

To tackle the challenges, we established a central test automation team utilizing a no-code test automation accelerator to rapidly develop and maintain GUI test scripts across numerous tailored software platforms.

  • Conducted 12 weeks of boot camp for functional testers, enabling them to create & maintain automated scripts.

  • Harbinger enhances the efficiency of script creation by accelerating the process, significantly reducing manual effort, and minimizing errors.

  • Automated the regression testing process, reducing the cycle time from two weeks to two days. Automated tests were configured to run across multiple browsers and devices, ensuring comprehensive coverage and consistent results.

  • Integrated CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous integration and deployment. Automated tests were triggered with each code change, providing immediate feedback and rapid identification of issues.

Feuji's automation of the regression suite decreased the cycle time from 14 days to only 2 days every two months, boosting efficiency and enabling faster releases.
